SagamoreHill Broadcasting is looking for a passionate and competitive Market Manager to lead our advertising sales efforts in the Kansas City DMA. The ideal candidate should be goal-oriented and able to develop long-lasting client and community relationships. This position also requires a person who is driven, accountable, ethical, personable, and works well independently. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct the local advertising sales efforts of the station
  • Identify and support national sales opportunities, working alongside National Sales Manager
  • Meet and exceed revenue budgets including broadcast television, digital & outdoor, and station events & initiatives
  • Report Revenue Projections, budget variance, and other key metrics with the General Manager
  • Participate in key account oversight along with Account Executives
  • Develop strong client relationships through in-person meetings, sales presentations, and client appreciation efforts
  • Develop new business strategies and identify new prospects and revenue streams 
  • Collaborate with the Creative Services and News departments to develop sponsorship offerings
  • Manage the local sales team and provide leadership, training, and resources. Schedule and conduct team and one-on-one meetings
  • Attract, hire, and develop new sales talent
  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable efforts of the Sales Department
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Broadcast Sales Management
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Great networking skills
  • Solid negotiation skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with media software such as OSI/Imagine or WideOrbit a plus
  • Strong work ethic, trustworthy, and self-motivated
  • Must possess a driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Bilingual with the ability to speak, read and write in both English and Spanish a plus
