KAKE, the ABC affiliate in Wichita, Kansas, has an opening for a News Producer.  We are a fast-paced newsroom that puts an emphasis on breaking news and weather coverage.

DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

Responsible for directing reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks, and structuring newscasts to fit within time parameters

Respond to viewer inquiries and make regular “beat” calls to stay on top of the latest news developments

Active participant in editorial meetings and take a leadership role in generating story ideas

Must be active in social media and embrace producing content for multiple platforms

Must be a team play with a positive attitude and desire to win

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 1 year of television news experience is preferred

College degree in English, Broadcast Journalism or Mass Communications or equivalent experience

Strong writing ability, outstanding organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in multi-tasking, and have a flexible work schedule
