KAKE, the ABC affiliate in Wichita, is looking for an aggressive, highly motivated and skilled News Reporter/Producer to join our award-winning staff.    We are seeking a journalist with a great work ethic.

DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

Develop, shoot, write and present stories as assigned for newscasts, specials or special projects

As a reporter, perform active live shots in the field as assigned by producer

Edit Stories as assigned

As a producer, responsible for directing reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks, and structuring newscasts to fit within time parameters

Respond to viewer inquiries and make regular “beat” calls to stay on top of the latest news developments

Active participant in editorial meetings and take a leadership role in generating story ideas

Must be able to perform duties on all platforms, from on-air, to web publishing, and all other social media

Drive and operate station vehicles

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 1 year of television news experience

College degree in broadcast journalism or mass communications is preferred

Have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
